Shucking Corn!! How to Freeze Fresh Corn

Method:

“Shuck” the corn on the cob and remove the fine silky strands. Shucking the corn means removing the outer leaves. If the stem is long you can break it off or cut it off with a knife.

Boil water in the biggest pot you own. You can lightly salt the water if you like.

Carefully place the Shucked cobs into the boiling water. Boil for about 2-3 minutes without the lid.

Remove the corn and place them in icewater to cool.

Cut kernels off the cob with a knife.

Portion kernels into freezer bags or containers removing air if possible.

Place in freezer and enjoy at a later date.
