Breadcrumbs

Less food in the landfill and save a few dollars. Make your own breadcrumbs.
Have some not so fresh bread that you are tempted to toss? Have a freezer full of bread products you don’t want to consume because it doesn’t look perfect but don’t want to waste? Do the following and you will be HAPPY that you did!
Clean out your freezer of bread products like hamburger buns, dinner rolls or partial loaves of bread. Cut some of the larger pieces to be more uniform in thickness.

When cool place bread in food processor or blender and break down into breadcrumbs. No small appliances? No worries 😀 simply put crumbs in a ziplock bag and crush bread with a bottle or can. Store in an air tight container in the fridge, freezer or in a cupboard.
Variations:
Gluten Free- you guessed correctly! Simply use gluten free breads to make the crumbs.
Add spices to liven up the crumbs. Try Italian seasoning or maybe blackening spice.
